Andrey Prakhov. Unveiling the Boundless Horizons of Artistic Expression
Andrey Prakhov's creative vision extended beyond the boundaries of a canvas. He sought inspiration from his life, books, history and travels across Europe and Asia, delving into the heart of different cultures and immersing himself in their artistic tapestries.

His artistic language was a captivating blend of borrowed and reimagined canonical forms, mixed with symbols and recognizable imagery as part of his artistic language. Through his unique visual storytelling, Andrey Prakhov crafted narratives that resonated with audiences, inviting them to delve deeper into his polysemantic works.

Born in the city of Great Ustug (Veliky Ustyug), Andrey embarked on his artistic journey in the city of Perm, where he spent his childhood. Despite pursuing a degree in biology and working in various fields such as microbiology, teaching, hydraulic engineering, firefighting, he eventually realized that he couldn't ignore the inner calling of his soul. With great courage, he left behind the security and prospects of his job, completed evening art school for adults, and set off on a liberating artistic voyage.

Over time, Andrey's focus shifted from urban landscapes, which had initially captivated him, to more profound and philosophical projects with intricate compositions crafted in his studio. Drawing inspiration from plein-air experiences and utilizing secondary sources like photographs, prints, and depictions of ancient artifacts, he honed his ability to capture scenes from memory.
