Discover the captivating series Flying Dreams and Reality by Andrey Prakhov. Unlike self-proclaimed intuitive artists who attribute their talents to divine inspiration, Andrey approaches his craft with a scientific mindset. Drawing from his extensive education in the natural sciences, he believes in harnessing the collective knowledge and techniques developed by humanity throughout history, as famously stated by Leo Tolstoy: "Take from others and move forward."
Andrey Prakhov embraces the rich tapestry of artistic expression that has emerged over time, including movements like cubism, abstractionism, futurism, and more. He believes that art should not be confined to mere divination or mystical practices but rather be an amalgamation of acquired wisdom and multidisciplinary understanding. In addition to mastering the technical aspects of his craft, Andrey emphasizes the importance of a well-rounded education in humanities, philosophy, history, and even poetry.
Through his thought-provoking series, Andrey delves into the depths of human existence, contemplating the past and extracting inspiration from completed artistic forms. As a child, he harbored a deep fascination with castles, knights, kings, and princesses, like many others. In this series, Andrey incorporates a series of aerial photographs of Czech and Slovak castles, skillfully weaving them into compositions that explore eternal themes such as undying love, transient glory, and the inevitable end of earthly splendor, represented by the Latin phrase "Finis Gloria mundi."
